Carlo Festucci

Thanks to his deep knowledge of industrial sectors and extensive experience gained both nationally and internationally, Carlo Festucci is a leading figure in the development and promotion of the aerospace, defense, and security industries.
He boasts a long and consolidated career in the chemical, metallurgical, and aerospace sectors, built over more than fifty years of professional activity.

At the international level, he is actively involved as a member of the Board of the AeroSpace and Defence Industries Association of Europe (ASD) and as Government Observer at the NATO Industrial Advisory Group (NIAG).

From 1993 to 2025, he served as Secretary General of the Aerospace Industries Association (AIA), which in 1997 became AIAD – the Federation of Italian Companies for Aerospace, Defense, and Security (following the merger of AIA, RITAD, and ANIE-DSS).

From 2003 to 2008, he chaired the UNAVIA association, of which he remains a member of the Board of Directors.
From October 2011 to January 2013, he served on the Board of Directors of Agusta Aerospace Services – A.A.S.
From January 2007 to March 2011, he held the role of President and CEO of ALENIA HELLAS.
From July 1999 to May 2009, he was a member of the Board of Directors of C.I.R.A. (Italian Aerospace Research Centre), a position he resumed in 2013, also serving as its President.
From December 2001 to January 2006, he sat on the Board of Directors of C.S.M. (Materials Development Centre).
From October 1995 to 1997, he was a Board Member of the R.A.I. (Italian Aeronautical Register).

From 1980 to March 1993, he was National Secretary of FIOM-CGIL with responsibility for the aerospace and defense sector, where he worked as an expert for European Commissions.

His dedication and career achievements have also been recognized institutionally: in 2002 he was awarded the honor of Knight of Merit of the Italian Republic, and in 2017 that of Officer of Merit of the Italian Republic.

After completing a two-year specialization in Industrial Chemistry at the Enrico Fermi Institute, he began his career in 1970 at the Metallurgical Experimental Centre, where he worked until 1980. At the same time, between 1970 and 1985, he also worked as a Technical Instructor at the Vittorino da Feltre Institute, teaching chemical analysis and stoichiometry in evening courses.
