GENERAL
General Enzo Vecciarelli has been the President of “DEAS S.P.A.” since March 13, 2025.
Throughout his career, the General has been a fighter pilot on the F104 “Starfighter” aircraft. He commanded the 4th Wing “Amedeo D’Aosta” of Grosseto, the Combat Forces of the Italian Air Force, served as Deputy Chief of Defense Staff, Chief of Staff of the Italian Air Force, and Chief of Defense Staff.
Regarding roles closest to the Defense and Security Industry sector, he held positions within the National Defense Secretariat and the National Directorate of Armaments, including Vice Head of the Armaments Policy Department and Director of Armament Programs and International Cooperation.
In these capacities, he also served as the National Representative in the most important European Defense Agencies, such as: the EDA “European Defence Agency,” the OCCAR “Organisation Conjointe de Coopération en matière d’Armament,” and the LoI “Letter of Intent” for the restructuring of the European defense industry.
At a time when the armed forces were still rigidly structured around the traditional domains of land, sea, and air, General Vecciarelli, as Chief of Defense Staff, declared Space and Cyberspace as autonomous and strategically decisive operational domains. He established the Network Operations Command and highlighted in his guidelines the importance of Big Data, Networks, Tactical Cloud, Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Mixed Reality, Virtual Reality, High Performance Computing, Edge-Quantum Computing, and Digital Collaboration as priority areas for enhancing Defense.
Today, as the Head of “DEAS cyber+,” fascinated by the unique capabilities of the company but especially by the exceptional and “out-of-the-box” professionalism of its personnel, he is leading them on a path of change and innovation in the cyber domain, seeking increasingly effective and disruptive solutions capable of “significantly improving the quality of life of its citizens and making Italy even safer.”
